If you're like me, you have a ton of work to do and many things on your mind. As a result, I often leave little scribbled notes on my desk at the end of the work day as a reminder of tasks that need to be completed the next. The problem with this is that I have tons of little scraps of paper around my keyboard.
The best solution I have found was something that I resisted for quite a while - Google Keep. This app from Google allows users to create lists and notes that are tied to your Google Account.
In addition to simple notes, if you click the New List icon, you can create lists that you can check off as you complete tasks.
Any of your notes can be shared with others, just by clicking on the Share button . I share my notes across Google accounts so I can see them on my work and personal Gmail accounts.
In addition to sharing, you can also change the color of notes to fit different workflows or occasions, but best of all, like Gmail, Calendar Events, and Google Classroom assignments, Notes on Google Keep can be set up with Reminders. Reminders can be set for a time and date, as well as a place. Choosing a place for reminders will notify you of a note or task the next time you are nearby the location you choose.
After I started using Google Keep, I set Keep as my home page on my browser. Now, every time I launch Chrome, it opens Google Keep ~ no more scrawled notes or scraps of paper around my keyboard. Plus, I can check my notes and lists from home, on my phone, or my Chromebook! Google Keep is available as an app for Android and there are some third party apps for iOS users.
For Chrome users, go to http://keep.google.com to get started!
